On January 17th, Aston Hotel Riga invites you to the seventh live Jazz&Blues evening – the concert "Winter Sounds in the City" at Lounge Fenikss Bar on the hotel's 2nd floor.
The concert will feature jazz fusion-style compositions performed by the new and colorful artist Elizabeta Lace on an unusual and exotic instrument – the harp. Alongside E. Lace, Klavs Abols (piano) and Reinis Ozolins (double bass) will be performing.
Elizabeta Lace, characterized as a artist with virtuoso talents, made a name for herself at the Emils Darzins Music School. She is currently one of the most original artists of her generation in Latvia. Her repertoire includes pieces from ancient and Baroque music to interpretations of works composed in the third decade of the 21st century, ranging from authentic jazz/folk/avant-garde improvisations to architecturally structured cycles of original compositions and interdisciplinary performances. E. Lace has performed as a soloist with orchestras, including "Sinfonietta Concertante" (conducted by maestro Andris Vecumnieks) and the Vidzeme Chamber Orchestra (conducted by maestro Andris Veismanis). Several albums of E. Lace's solo and chamber music, which she has performed, have been well-received by audiences. E. Lace has been nominated for the "Austras Balva", "Zelta Mikrofons" and other awards.
In the concert "Winter Sounds in the City," the piano will be played by the emerging talent Klavs Abols – a longtime participant in the jazz music festival "Rīgas Ritmi," who is also a composer himself, and Reinis Ozolins, who, in addition to the double bass, has mastered the violin and bass guitar, and at the Jazeps Vitols Latvian Academy of Music, has dedicated special attention to jazz in double bass performance.
The tradition of live Jazz&Blues evenings at Aston Hotel Riga's Lounge Fenikss Bar began in October of last year. Concerts take place every other Tuesday, and each evening's music is complemented by a specially selected drink. This time, for "Winter Sounds in the City," it will be the "Winter Aperol."
